You don't like normal Counter-Strike skins ?
No Problem ! Just click here to download new resources/skins to your Counter-Strike !
~~~~~~~~~ Where Do I put those Skins ? ~~~~~~~~~~~
It's very simple , follow those steps and you will get them WORK !
First, Download Skin or Whatever you want to your Desktop ( Or other place you want )
Now , For fast searching Type Ctrl F to find out what you've downloaded .
1. Hand/Glove Skin Installation
2. Map Installation
3. Spray Installation
4. Weapon/Player Skin Installation
1. Hand/Glove Skin Installation.
Counter-Strike 1.6 Glove Installation
1. To install custom gloves in Counter-Strike 1.6/CZ, you need HLMV (Half Life Model Viewer) which can be downloaded here.
2. Next, open HLMV and click "File" click "open" then click "Load Model" and load the model you want to put the custom gloves on. (NOTE: make sure it's a "V" model and NOT a "W" model or a "P" model)
3. Once the model's open, click the "Textures" tab in the HLMV menu, which is at the bottom of the window. Then click the long box thats right underneath the "Model Display" & "Body Parts" tab and find the glove texture and select it. (NOTE: you can't replace CZ mesh with Source mesh or vise-versa)
4. Next, click the "Import Texture" button in the bottom right corner of the window, and find the glove texture that you want to "Import" or "Install" and select it. Now you should have your new gloves installed! (NOTE: You can only install glove textures that are the same size as the gloves your replacing)
5. Finally, click the "File" tab again and scroll down to "Save Model As". Now find the model that you put the gloves on. ( For Example: v_deagle or v_ak47) and save it in your models folder. Finally, your done!
Now load up CS and enjoy your new Gloves!
2. Map Installation
Ok, here is an easy way to install maps. First you need a copy of WinRar.
Then you need to open the .rar file you just downloaded, and extract the map information to your cstrike folder.
This is located in (drive):valve/steam/SteamApps/Acct name/counter-strike/cstrike.
If for some reason it doesn't work then you might have to manually extract the files.
1. Create a folder on your desktop that is easy to find and name it however you'd like.
2. Extract everything to your unpacked folder.
3. Go into your root cstrike folder .... (drive):valve/steam/SteamApps/Acct name/counter-strike/cstrike.
Here you will see a bunch of folders and other files . We are concerned with the following:
Maps
Gfx
Sprites
Sound
Models
If you don't see these folders then you need to create them.
Simply cut and paste everything from the unpacked folder into the appropriate folder. Here is a simple guide:
File Name - Folder Placed In
.txt - Maps
.bsp - Maps
.tga - Gfx/Env
.wav - Sound/ambience
.spr - Sprites
.mdl - Models
If you get any .wad files, place them in the ROOT cstrike folder ... (drive):valve/steam/SteamApps/Acct name/counter-strike/cstrike.

3. Spray Installation
Step 1- Download any spray
Step 2- You will need the .wad file.
Step 3- Locate your cstrike folder.
Step 4- This needs to be placed in the cstrike folder. Make sure the file is named tempdecal. Rename it if it is not already tempdecal.wad.
Make sure the .wad set to read only by right-clicking and selecting properties!
Step 5- Enjoy your new spray.
4. Weapon/Player Skin InstallationCounter-Strike players may get tired of the same old CT and T skins and weapon skins!
This is a tut that shows how you can install skins of your choice to add some flavor to your game!
-=Weapon Skins=-
Step 1 - Download the Condition Zero or 1.6 Weapon skin of your choice, must be a weapon ingame though.
Step 2 - Open your "Steam/steamapps/*playername*/counter-strike/cstrike/models" folder. (for CS 1.6 use)
Open your "Steam/steamapps/*playername*/condition-zero/czero/models" folder. (For CZ Use)
Step 3 - Once the Skin is downloaded open the Skin file. There should be v_ w_ p_ types of the skin (if it is a gun skin). Drag the Skin file (name should be "v_*gunname*.mdl") to the Models folder.
Step 4 - Once you have all of your skins dragged to your models folder, you may now open CS 1.6 and play away.
Note - This method may be used for both Counter-Strike 1.6 and Condition Zero but not CS:S!
-=Player Skins=-
Step 1 - Download the Counter-Strike 1.6 or Condition Zero Player pack/skin of your choice!
Step 2 - Open your Open your "Steam/steamapps/*playername*/counter-strike/cstrike/models/player" folder. If you do not have one, make it yourself. Inside this folder should be 8 folders. Each folder should have its own name, 4 for CT and 4 for T players. Names are:
CT TEAM:
sas
gign
gsg9
urban
spetsnaz (CZ Player ONLY!!!!!!)
T TEAM:
arctic
guerilla
leet
terror
militia (CZ player ONLY!!!!!!!)
Step 3 - Have the downloaded skin file opened. Then drag the player skin to the player folder it belongs to. If the file says "sas.mdl" drag it to the "sas" folder etc.
Step 4 - Once you have dragged all the player skins you have downloaded or are wanting, you may now open CS 1.6/CZ and play away.
Note - This method can be used for CZ and 1.6 - CZ Does have 5 players so if you want to change your CZ Player skins you must add the skin if you choice!
